3 Awesome Tools For Instagram Marketing

Instagram Marketing ToolsIn this post I’m going to be sharing 3 awesome tools with you that will take your Instagram marketing to the next level.

Instagram is “the big thing” for marketing right now and it’s becoming more & more popular by the day. The engagement rates on other networks like Facebook and Twitter are dying whilst the rates on Instagram are just completing blowing up, so much so in fact that it’s leaving many marketers completely gobsmacked.

I guess it’s true when they say a picture speaks a thousand words.

But regardless of what’s causing it, it’s happening, so if Instagram isn’t already part of your marketing strategy then you need to make it part of your strategy (and you need to do it as soon as possible) otherwise you’ll be missing out on a LOT of easily attainable prospects for your business.

Now I know that one of the biggest reasons marketers have kept away from Instagram is the fact that the platform’s only been accessible via mobile devices (or so they thought), but in this post I’m also going to be showing you how you can post to your Instagram account right from your PC.

So without further ado let me share these 3 awesome tools with you…

1. PicMonkey

PicMonkey LogoWhilst this isn’t technically a marketing tool, it’s proven that a high quality picture can drastically increase your engagement rates on Instagram and for that reason PicMonkey has made it onto my list of awesome marketing tools.

From what I just said above you can probably make a good guess as to what PicMonkey is – it’s an awesome tool that will allow you to edit photos, touch photos up, create collages, add effects and even create brand new images from scratch.

It’s not free, but at just $4.99 per month (or somewhere near that figure) it’s definitely a tool I’d recommend investing in. I personally have Photoshop installed on my PC & because of that I’ve never really bothered with any of these online photo editing websites, but let me tell you that after taking the plunge and signing up to PicMonkey I’ve realised just how much of a massive time saver it actually is.

You have full control over what you want to do with the masterpieces that you create in PicMonkey so you can upload them to other social media sites as you wish, but since the whole concept of Instagram is based around photos I figured that’s where it would have the most use.

Over the past week I’ve been using PicMonkey to create stunning images with motivational quotes on, they’ve been taking me literally around 30 seconds to a minute to put together and since posting them I’ve seen my account grow by 400 followers. Pretty cool stuff!

Here’s an example of what it looks like inside the PicMonkey editor (this is the collage screen):

PicMonkey Editor

All I had done is upload 3 photos, dropped them into the collage creator and that puts them into the cool looking layout that you see above.

Once you’re happy with the layout and positioning of the photos you can hit “Export to Editor” at the top and proceed to add some fancy effects or overlays.

Just as an example of a few things you can quickly achieve, take a look at the images below:

I know they’re not exactly masterpieces but it’s pretty awesome to be able to create them in less than a minute with just a couple of clicks.

2. Instagress

Instagress LogoInstagress is just all round awesome for automating your Instagram marketing, at least it is when it’s used correctly. Incorrect use can result in the ban of your account but don’t let that scare you off, we’ll touch on that in a moment & I’ll explain why it’s not as bad as it sounds.

Instagress is another tool that isn’t free but it’s super cheap & well worth the money. At the time of writing this post it costs you just $1.99 to be able to get enough credit to run Instagress for 3 days solid or alternatively you can pay $9.99 and get a full 30 days use out of Instagress.

So what exactly is it?

Well as I mentioned above it’s a tool that will completely automate your Instagram marketing. You can connect one or multiple accounts to Instagress and it will go out liking photos, following people and leaving comments on your behalf.

It’s super simple to use and you have huge amounts of control over the criteria that it operates on.

For example you could decide that you just want Instagress to follow people, and that you want it to follow people who have posted photos with a particular hashtag or who have posted photos at a particular location.

To give you a quick idea, take a look at the screenshot of the activity summary on one of my accounts below:

Activity Summary

As you can see I’ve got 46 days worth of activity remaining on my account and I want Instagress to go ahead & do nothing other than unfollow people.

You can see that the activity has started and that it’s been running for 1 hour 44 minutes, and in that time it’s unfollowed 45 people.

Using the criteria I’ve set it up so that Instagress is simply going out and unfollowing the users that don’t follow me back, and you can also set the speed at which it completes the activities as shown in the image below:

Activity Speed

Since I’m only using it to unfollow people I’ve set the activity to run fairly quickly, because it’s relatively natural to unfollow a lot of people in a short period of time so Instagram shouldn’t see it as too much of a problem (unless it was running over a lengthy duration of course).

The amount of control that you have over the activity that Instagress does is just phenomenal, in my opinion nothing comes close and that’s why it’s made this list.

But remember I mentioned about Instagress resulting in getting your account banned? Well that’s one risk you run with using those, however providing you use it wisely and not in a spammy manner you should be absolutely fine.

The key to using Instagram is to use common sense and to not go after too much too quickly. Instagram aren’t stupid and if they detect that you’re putting out thousands of likes or follows 24 hours a day they’re going to realise you’re using a bot and ban your account.

Instagress is designed to be used as a tool to replicate human activity whilst your away from your desk or working on other things – it’s not designed to be a tool that you use to blast comments and likes across thousands of peoples photos.

So if you’re looking for a cheap, easy to use tool for automating your Instagram marketing & helping boost up your numbers then Instagress is my recommendation.

3. Gramblr

Gramblr is a tool that I only found out about relatively recently, and it’s a tool that among other things allows you to manage & update your Instagram account from your desktop PC.

Previously the only way you could update & manage your Instagram account was via a mobile device, as whilst Instagram have always enabled you login to their website on a PC there’s never been a facility on there for you to upload new or manage existing photos.

Gramblr is piece of free software that takes a moment to install and makes managing your IG account from your PC super easy. In a matter of clicks you can add photos, crop photos, add filters add captions & upload them to your account. It also enables the support for multiple accounts too.

Here’s a quick snapshot of it in action:

Gramblr Example

You can also schedule the posting of photos using Gramblr and you have the ability to go back and delete any photos that you added via the Gramblr tool itself.

So for doing those things Gramblr is awesome, but it does have some other features too…

Gramblr also provides you with the ability to get additional likes on your photos, to do this you can purchase a number of likes for “Gramblr Coins” and there are 2 ways that you can get hold of these coins.

The first way you can get hold of them is by simply buying them. It costs you $5.95 for 10,000 coins and 1 like costs around 10 coins, so they’re pretty cheap.

The second way you can get them is by earning them, and to earn them you’ll need to like the photos of other Gramblr users.

Basically Gramblr have a rotator, and when you request likes on one of your photos it gets put in this rotator and it then gets liked by the other Gramblr users who are trying to earn themselves some coins to get likes on their own photos.

Hopefully that makes sense, and in the image below you should be able to see an example of what the Gramblr rotator looks like:

Gramblr Rotator

Whilst it’s an easy and cheap way to get likes, the engagement isn’t all that great. These people are only liking your photos because they want to earn coins to get some likes themselves and they don’t really care about your photo or take much notice to it.

So if you’re just looking to boost your numbers up then sure Gramblr is great for that too, but if you’re looking for genuine likes (as a proper marketer should be) then Gramblr isn’t all that… But it is still super cool just for the ability to use Instagram on your PC though.

Authorizing your accounts…

To be able to use 2 of those tools above, Instagress & Gramblr you’re going to need to sign into your Instagram account via their software and authorize your account.

Whenever I use third-party software this is something I’m always particularly wary about, but touch wood I’ve been using both of these pieces of software for quite a while now on several accounts & I’ve not had any issues.

As far I am aware they seem to be reputable companies, and they’ve both been around for quite a long time so personally I felt comfortable enough to trust them with my details. I know that’s something that many people are wary of so I just wanted to try and offer a bit of reassurance.

And so to wrap it up…

I really hope that you found this post useful and that the tools I’ve listed are able to help you on your mission of dominating Instagram (or at least make your life easier whilst doing so).

These are the 3 main tools that I’m personally using in my own Instagram strategies at the moment and I’m seeing great results, so hopefully you see similar if not better.

If you have any questions about the tools I’ve listed then feel free to leave a comment below and I’ll try and help you out as best as I can.

And on that note if you have any suggestions of tools that you think I’ve missed off this list or that you feel are better than the ones I’ve listed then again be sure to leave a comment and I’ll have a look into them.

But for now, peace out. 😀
