What Exactly Is BannerBit?

In BannerBit’s own words it describes itself as “the entrepreneur’s marketplace for buying & selling online advertising” and you’re led to believe that their website can essentially provide you with an easy way to make money.

BannerBit Description

They portray the idea that even without experience or technical knowledge you can simply sign up, browse ads, invest & then earn ad revenue through a concept that they refer to as “ad flipping”.

And I’m not gonna lie, when I first came across this so-called “ad flipping” concept I was pretty darn sceptical as it wasn’t a concept I’d previously heard of (despite being in the make-money-online game for several years).

How could you make money by “flipping ads”? Where the money coming from? Those were the questions that were running through my mind…

They claim that you can literally just sign up, invest in banners & then either choose to hold onto them whilst earning a passive income from the clicks they receive, or choose to resell them on in the hope of achieving a higher return.

On top of that they even claim that you could potentially do both… So you could invest in a banner advertisement, receive a passive income for a while from the clicks it receives & then later resell it for profit as its value increases… It sounds like a win-win.

And I know what you’re thinking… It was exactly the same thing I was thinking… What’s the catch?

Well keep on reading & I’ll show you exactly how it all works, how money is supposedly made through the platform, whether or not it’s legit & the big one – whether or not you can actually make any money. 🙂

How Does BannerBit Work?

So after taking a closer look into BannerBit & the whole ad flipping concept that it revolves around, I can actually say that the whole thing seems to be pretty darn interesting, and could potentially be lucrative too.

BannerBit, as it claims, is indeed a marketplace for buying & selling banner advertising – and whilst I couldn’t immediately see where the money was coming from, after investigating further I managed to find out.

So here’s a run down of how it all works (and how money is made)…

Basically the company that’s behind BannerBit (Volo Corporate LTD) is a large media buying company that has access to a wide network of websites online, all of which display banner advertisements.

Now whether or not Volo Corporate LTD owns this network of sites or merely has some sort of an arrangement with the owners I do not know, but either way – they have access to the network somehow & that’s the important part.

And as I say, on all of these websites within the network are various different banner ads…

So what BannerBit essentially does is facilitate a way for people to get a cut of the revenue that’s being generated from these banner advertisements that are displayed throughout their network of sites.

And you do that by purchasing the “rights” to the specific banner ad slot.

So traditionally a website might have banner advertisements and each time the ads get clicked on the webmaster who owns the website would be paid some money from the advertiser who’s chosen to display their ads there…

However when it comes to BannerBit, they are basically giving their members the opportunity to purchase the rights to the banner ads on the sites within their network, meaning that they will get the revenue generated instead of the webmasters.

For example – you could purchase a banner ad through their marketplace & then from the moment you purchased each every time the ad gets clicked on that money would go straight to you, since you now own the rights to it. Then on top of that they also give you the option to resell the banner back into the marketplace as well.

The banners value is based upon the amount of clicks it receives (since that determines how much money it generates), and so therefore if the banner was to begin getting more clicks during your period of ownership it could potentially be worth more & you could stand to make a one-off profit by simply reselling it.

But there is a downside – it’s not all as plain sailing as that. Obviously whilst banners could stand to get more clicks (based on things like increased visitors to a website), similarly they could also decrease…

And if the clicks decreased, so would the revenue & so would the resell value…

So whilst you could potentially stand to make a profit, at the same time you could also stand to make a loss as well. There is definitely risk involved, so it shouldn’t be viewed as a “sure-fire” way to make money… But with the added guidance of “welcome tour” that you get upon joining which shows you what to look out for, that risk is relatively minimized (providing you pay attention).

Also, BannerBit provide details about the banner advertisements themselves, but they don’t actually provide details about which site inside of the network that the ad is running on. That means you can’t get an idea of stats etc, instead you have to solely rely on the fact that price reflects revenue… So the higher priced an ad is, the more likely it is to generate revenue (though still not guaranteed, as like I mentioned above external factors could influence it after purchase).

So whilst there is the potential to make money through both investing & holding onto ads or investing & reselling ads (or both!) there is also the potential that you could end up losing money too (like with any sort of “flipping” method).

Which brings me onto…

My Verdict – Is BannerBit a Scam?

In my opinion BannerBit does not seem to be a scam, I mean sure as with any sort of “flipping” there is the potential for losses, but in my personal opinion the whole ad flipping concept (which is relatively new hence my initial scepticism) actually looks pretty interesting.

I mean don’t get me wrong with the BannerBit marketplace being relatively new along with the concept I am sure there is going to be some ironing out to do to “perfect it” but as a concept it does look promising & could as it claims potentially be quite lucrative.

I would like to see the stats of the websites that the banners are displayed on being shown to members though, that would be a nice addition as relying on price in my opinion isn’t the greatest – however I can see why they’ve likely done it, to try & keep things simple.

So overall I would say the BannerBit platform seems pretty unique, and that it could potentially provide a way for new people looking to make money online to tap into the revenue generated by already established websites (without having to actually build a website of their own).

There is definitely a gap for it as people are always wanting to get started fast whenever they look into making money online & even though launching a website is one of the best ways to make money, many people simply don’t want the hassle or don’t want to put in the time or effort required to do so… And BannerBit is a company providing an alternative.

Anyway I would love to hear your thoughts on it so if you happen to have any comments please do feel free to leave them below, and any questions you might have are of course welcomed too. 🙂
